- Made two pies from scratch
: apple and butternut squash. Apples are Northern Spy, an old baking variety, squash is organic from the garden. Crusts are with butter and lard, from the Fannie Farmer cookbook my mother gave me when I finished college.
Sometimes, you just have to do it for taste alone.
