
It’s the gold standard of mulch. Its grit repels crawling uglies such as slugs and cutworms, and it’s an absolute fountain of minerals and other micronutrients. More, it’s free, and an inexhaustible supply arrives on beaches every day with the high tide.
Alas, it helps to live near the shore, own a pickup truck, and have access to a front-end loader.
