I just spoke to another grower who said I absolutely must try something called a Watermelon radish, which goes by the name Red Meat in the Johnny’s catalog. They are large, 2-4 inches, have a “remarkably sweet, delicious taste,” and can be grown all summer into fall. Spring plantings will bolt.
I’m ordering some.
